These dogs won most of the stamina racing titles which started in Alaska in 1909. The rocky terrains in Alaskan terrain were ideal for the lighter Siberian Huskies. Siberian Huskies became even more popular after several teams of sled dogs were used to deliver antitoxins to Nome in Alaska, to fight a diphtheria epidemic.
